Guest Biography:

Professor Chengzhong Xu is IEEE Fellow, the Chair Professor in Computer Science at the University of Macau, and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology. He also serves as the Director of the Institute for Collaborative Innovation at the university. He is a National Distinguished Expert and a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars award. As Chief Scientist and Project Leader, he has recently led major national projects, including the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Smart City R&D Program, the Guangdong Province Cloud Data Center Intelligent Control Program, and the Macau Science and Technology Fund’s Autonomous Driving Program. Professor Xu has published over 500 papers in academic conferences and journals and has received multiple best paper awards or nominations from top international conferences such as HPCA, HPDC, SOCC, and ICPP. He holds over 120 PCT and domestic patents. The cloud resource management and scheduling technology he developed, as well as his spatiotemporal big data analysis technology, have been transferred to industry leaders such as Huawei, ZTE, and Alibaba. He also successfully incubated Shenzhen Beidou Application Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. He has previously served as the Chair of the IEEE Global Technical Committee on Distributed Processing.
