Guest Biography:

Professor Weimin Zheng is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has long been engaged in research on high-performance computer architecture, parallel algorithms, and systems. He proposed scalable storage system architectures and lightweight parallel expansion mechanisms, and developed theories and methods for the scalability of storage systems. Professor Zheng was the first in China to design and successfully apply high-performance computing systems based on cluster architectures. His large-scale weather forecasting application developed on China’s domestic Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer won the ACM Gordon Bell Prize. He has received several prestigious awards, including one First-Class and two Third-Class National Science and Technology Progress Awards, one Third-Class National Technology Invention Award, the He Liang He Li Science and Technology Progress Award, and the inaugural China Storage Lifetime Achievement Award.
