2024 Seventh session of the"China Telecom Distinguished Lecture Series" (Overall Seventh Session)
2024-11-28

Topic:Research and Exploration of New-Generation Internet

Time:November 25, 2024, 14:00

Speaker:Zhang Hongke

Location:4th Floor Lecture Hall, China Telecom Museum

Abstract: While traditional internet technologies have been highly successful, they also face new demands and challenges from specialized industry applications, such as high mobility, high security, and high real-time performance. This lecture focuses on the field of new-generation internet, with an emphasis on the application of new technologies, represented by intelligent integrated identifier networks, in private network engineering.

Bio: Zhang Hongke is an expert on communication and network technology and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is also a professor and doctoral advisor at the School of Electronic Information Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University, the director of the National Engineering Laboratory of Next Generation Internet Interconnection Equipment, and an IEEE Fellow. He has also served as the chief scientist for two terms of the National 973 Program.

Professor Zhang has long been engaged in the research of theories and engineering technologies for private communication networks. He established the functional structure and resolution mapping mechanisms for identifier networks, effectively solving the challenges of high mobility support and reliable transmission in complex scenarios. He has led the development of private network equipment and systems, making significant contributions to addressing urgent national and industry-specific private network engineering needs. He has received two National Technology Invention Second Prizes and four Provincial and Ministerial First Prizes. He has authored six monographs and received the National Innovation Excellence Award. Professor Zhang enjoys special allowances from the State Council and is a leading member of the first group of Huang Danian-style teacher teams in Chinese universities.
