From May 23 to 27, 2024, the 7th Digital China Construction Summit's Smart Computing Cloud Ecosystem Conference was grandly held in Fuzhou. Jie Wu,Chief Scientist of Cloud Computing at China Telecom and President of the Cloud Computing Research Institute,was invited to participate in three sub-forums: the "Industry A+ Forum," the "Cloud Computing Innovation Consortium Seminar," and the "Smart Computing Cloud Forum." He also attended several product and action plan release ceremonies.

As an important part of the 7th Digital China Construction Summit, this Smart Computing Cloud Ecosystem Conference focused on the theme "National Cloud Intelligence and Empowerment for a New Era." The event aimed to deeply implement the important directives for developing new productive forces, with a focus on data as a new production factor, strengthening digital infrastructure and data resource systems, and new-generation digital technologies. The conference was jointly organized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, China Telecom, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, and China Electronics. It included a series of activities such as the opening ceremony, main forum, Smart Computing Cloud Ecosystem Achievements Exhibition, and sub-forums.

At the Cloud Computing Innovation Consortium Seminar, China Telecom, together with dozens of central enterprises, universities, research institutes, local state-owned enterprises, and private enterprises, launched the Cloud Computing Innovation Consortium Initiative. The consortium aims to focus on national cloud construction needs and collaborate on key cloud computing technologies, product development, and industrial applications, with the goal of building a globally competitive cloud computing industry cluster.

At the Smart Computing Cloud Forum, China Telecom’s State Cloud officially launched its "Power · Platform · Data · Model · Application" five-in-one smart computing cloud capability system. The forum also hosted the launch ceremonies for the "Open Source Large Model Community Release and Ecological Prosperity Plan" and the "Xirang Regional Computing Power Interconnection and Scheduling Management Service Plan, as well as the Xirang City Computing Power Internet Lighting Action." These initiatives aim to achieve multi-level computing power interconnection and efficient scheduling through resource sharing and complementary advantages, and accelerate the formation of a national integrated computing power system.

The successful hosting of this Smart Computing Cloud Ecosystem Conference marks a new development stage for China Telecom’s State Cloud, as its national cloud framework has evolved from its initial formation to full maturity. Through this conference, the Cloud Computing Research Institute further strengthened its cooperation and communication with both the industry and academia. As a key player in China Telecom’s cloud computing innovation, the institute will continue to leverage its research strengths, academic and industry influence, and actively promote the development and application of cloud computing technologies. This will inject new momentum into the industry’s growth and contribute to the high-quality development of the digital economy.
