Recently, the 2024 ACM SIGOPS ChinaSys Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award results were announced. Dr. Yang Yanan, who recently completed his Ph.D. at Tianjin University and is now affiliated with the Cloud Computing Research Institute of China Telecom, was honored with this prestigious award.

ACM ChinaSys is a professional committee dedicated to advancing the field of computer systems. It serves as a community for researchers and practitioners in China's computer systems domain, aiming to share resources and provide a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering collaboration. To recognize outstanding research achievements and high-quality doctoral dissertations by young scholars and recent graduates in related fields, ACM ChinaSys annually selects up to three young scholars for the "ACM ChinaSys Rising Star Award" and up to three doctoral graduates for the "ACM ChinaSys Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award".

Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. from Tianjin University in April 2024. His research focuses on datacenter resource management, task schduling, and serverless computing. In the past five years, his papers has published in international conferences and journals such as EuroSys, SC, ASPLOS, ATC, TPDS, and TOCS. Several of his technologies have been successfully deployed in industry. Currently, Dr. Yang Yanan works as a cloud computing researcher at the Cloud Computing Research Institute of China Telecom, where he conducts research on next-generation cloud infrastructure and technological innovation. He also maintains close collaborations with academia to promote the integration of industry and academic technologies.

We expect that Dr. Yang will continue to make advance researches in cloud computing based on China Telecom's platform.
