On November 25th, the China Telecom Cloud Computing Research Institute and China Telecom Cloud Technology Co., Ltd. jointly held the seventh session of the "China Telecom Distinguished Lecture Series." at the China Telecom Museum. They invited Prof. Hongke Zhang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a professor from Beijing Jiaotong University, and the director of the National Engineering Research Center for Mobile Dedicated Networks to deliver a keynote speech.
The academician, Prof. Hongke Zhang, presented the topic “Exploration and Evolution of New-Type Internet” in an accessible manner the research findings in three aspects: the current status and requirements of new-type internet technologies, exploratory research and conceptualization, and engineering applications and explorations. In recent years, network architecture and technological innovation have been international research hotspots and focal points of competition. Against this backdrop, the academician systematically analyzed the current state of internet infrastructure and traditional IP network technologies, as well as the development trends of AI-empowered network communications and the deep integration of heterogeneous networks. He innovatively proposed a new-type internet architecture, detailed its theoretical framework and technical implementation pathways, and outlined its future prospects. He also showcased engineering applications in new-type internet fields such as integrated space-air-ground networks, high-speed rail dedicated communication networks, and industrial internet.
Prof. Jie Wu, the Chief Scientist of China Telecom and the Director of the Cloud Computing Research Institute presided over the forum and a presented commemorative medal to the academician as a special guest of the Cloud Computing Master Forum.
The kynote speech of the forum was held both onsite and online to the public. Researchers and engineers from China Telecom Group, China Telecom Cloud, China Telecom Research Institute, and the Cloud Computing Research Institute attended the event on-site.
